The newest addition to the barn is Vanity Fair, a
11 yo 15.3h Thoroughbred mare formerly owned by Amy Coffin. Vanna has
competed extensively at Preliminary but has had the last two and a half years
off. Jennifer has brought her back to work and she is doing very
well. They have completed several Training and one Preliminary event
(withdrew from another due to a bent shoe on xc) this spring, most recently
placing 5th at the Lumber River HT, and will be competing more in the fall
season.
Jennifer's other horse, Bolivia, is a 16.2h 10 yo Hanoverian mare by Bordeaux out of an AHS-approved TB mare.
Jennifer has brought her up from green-broke through Preliminary level eventing.
Now that
various back and saddle-fit issues have been resolved, Livi has started to
fulfill her potential and is placing at or near the top in dressage. She
continues to be an exceptionally clever and brave jumper and is working on
developing better speed cross-country. She placed fourth at her last event
(would have won if watch hadn't malfunctioned!) and won the event before
that. She has had the spring off due to a minor SDF strain, but will be
returning to competition at Fancy Hill. We are very excited about her future here!
For the last eleven years Jennifer has been partnered with the Thoroughbred stallion, Lose That, currently standing at stud at Third Charm. Due to
an auto accident resulting in some arthritic changes, Lose That was out of serious training for
some time, but he is back in work and can now be seen out and about
showing Third Charm students around at the lower levels.
Another exciting mount, Lady In Waiting, is a
Thoroughbred mare owned by Third Charm student Katy Bradley, currently competing at
Preliminary with great success. She qualified for the AECs in 2005 and is
qualified to run in a CCI*.
Lady with owner Katy Bradley winning the Training division at St. George's Quarters
Chester, AKA Pocket Change is so named because owner Teri Manno
purchased him for the sum total of what she had in her pocket at the
time... twenty-five cents. Teri has taken him from green-broke to
Novice level riding at Third Charm, and is schooling Training Level xc and
stadium in anticipation of a spring '06 move-up.
Casey Rogowski, owned and bred by Denise O'Keefe, almost became a
retiree at a young age after a couple of different trainers pronounced
him "dangerous". Denise brought him to Third Charm,
where he quickly grasped his job description. Casey has placed 2nd
in the NCDCTA Horse of the Year awards at Beginner Novice, qualified for
the AECs at Beginner Novice, and is now happily
squiring his owner around at Novice.
More coming soon... Andrea with Isis and Lloyd, Ashley with Bob, Cyd with
Hershey, and more....!
